The London Home Cinema Company is a business dedicated to the design, supply and installation of home cinema equipment and rooms for that cinematic experience in the comfort of your own home.
As in-home cinemas become more and more popular, brought on by the accessibility of multiple viewing platforms, together with falling prices of the technology and equipment required to install them, The London Home Cinema Company was set up to meet the needs of this growing market.
Whilst the London Home Cinema Company was essentially a start-up business in 2009, it originated form one of our existing customers own business, a well-established North London electrical goods business 'AW Pounds'.
Pounds itself, has for over 60 years operated as a local business selling and renting TV's, music systems and white goods from their shop front in North London.
Pounds started getting more and more enquiries with regard to supplying and installing home cinema equipment, and whilst initially this work was carried out under the AW Pounds banner, it wasn't long before they realised that this has become a part of the business which required specialised expertise.
Having spotted a gap in the market, using their industry experience and contacts they had built up over the years, the owners set up a new business to fill this gap, aptly named 'The London Home Cinema Company'.
This current version of the website is the newest of three sites we have developed for them in this time. As a business operating in a high-end market, the owners have always wanted to ensure that the website reflects a modern, on trend business. Therefore when we contacted them to explain about the most recent changes in website design and development methods, specifically the need for a responsive website for mobile devices, but also the improved user experience features, we were given the go ahead to redesign the site.
As with all websites we redevelop to have a responsive structure, we start by coming up with a totally new design. Obviously we will keep any features, colours or layouts the customer specific requests, but in essence we start the build from scratch.
As The London Home Cinema Company is an established business it was important that the new design not only considered the target market, but also the company's corporate identity. The two main facets of their corporate identity were the logo (which we had designed for them) and the colours purple and black.
We quickly came up with the idea of creating a cinematic feel for the home page, as it was felt the use of the dramatic, futuristic Sci-Fi block buster style movie clip, provides a relevant user experience and immediately captures the imagination of visitors to the site.
The narrow full width images then used on many of the internal page continue the cinematic theme which when set against the dark corporate colours, really bring the images to life.
